Our activities are meant to bring families together and enjoy family time together and connect with other families in their situation. You alone can do this, but you don't have to do it alone! Our activities are great ways to get connected and feel supported.  Check our calendar for detailed information and schedules.
CSU Social Work Mentor Program: The CSU Social Work 286 Program is educating the social workers of tomorrow. Every year a few of the CSU Students become mentors to the GFC youth.  Two hours a week for nine months the youth meet with the students to just hang out and do one on one activities. This program assists the students in learning some of the skills they will need to become effective social workers.

Holiday Party:

We serve up all the holiday spirit we can. A meal for all, gifts for the kids and even Santa comes to visit.

Grandparents Day Picnic:

September celebrates Grandparents Day. We celebrate with a barbeque and fun activities such as a Train Ride, Tug of War, Fun Photo Both, and activities created by our youth.

HUG's Group:

HUG's is a social group that comes together to connect us as people and understand our unique circumstances and children in our care. We give back by connecting with newcomers to this situation by making Tie Blankets that are given to children new to the Kinship System. We now have a Bilingual English/Spanish  group in Fort Collins.

"Kids in Nature"

The PWV’s “Kids in Nature” Program offer summer hikes where GFC Families gather to hike and socialize with other families while the kids learn about caring for the National Forest.

GFC Youth Group:

The youth in our organization are the most important part of our mission. We are here to support them into adulthood in the most positive way possible. By creating a place where they can connect and be creative, we are promoting positive behavior and inspiring leadership.  By giving them a sense of belonging, they can achieve great things.  They become the pulse of our organization.  When our pulse is strong we know we are accomplishing our goals.   (We are looking for help with organizing this Program.  If you are interested in helping, please complete our Volunteer Application)

Friendship Groups (mentor program)

This is an informal gathering of friends. By joining in you are bound to meet someone you enjoy being with, or visiting with. These friends often gather for coffee, FB chats or phone conversations. We find summer time in the park with the kids and coffee and donuts or a trip to the zoo a great way to be positive.

GRANDCares Program:

GRANDcares is a program offered by CSU for vulnerable grandparent-headed families.  This 6-week class provides education, support and mentorship along with other tools. For more information contact  jana.carson@colostate.edu

FaceBook Private Groups:

Many grandfamilies from across the state of Colorado are connecting to share ideas, stories and get connected by joining our facebook private group. Contact gail@grandfamilycoalition.org  for more information or to join.
